What Is DDR?
Dance Dance Revolution is a video game unlike any you have ever seen before. You actually get to dance on a stage to the beat of various songs. This is one of a new lineup of music games by konami known as the "bemani" series of games. Other games in this series allow you to be a dj, play guitar or drums, or other stuff too. Whatching someone play Para Para Paradise for instance looks like watching someone have a synchronized epileptic seziure =P On the stage there are buttons one each for up, down, left and right. On the screen it tells you when you need to hit these buttons with your feet. The closer to being in sync with the music you are, the better your score. Also available is double mode where you play both pads for one person. You have to switch back and forth in the middle of the song. |

DDR Extreme!!!
Konami has shed even more light on their recently announced DDR Extreme in the past day. Aparently they are much farther along in development than most people expected! Here are a few of the newly announced tidbits of information:New Beginner Mode - Similar to that on DDR USA (see below). You will NOT be able to fail the first song in this new mode! An astounding 230+ songs! Nearly double the largest selection to date! Test location? You bet. Looks like this comming week (October 18th-20) Konami will be testing it out (i believe). More information DDR Extreme For the vertaran DDRers there are 3 10-step songs on single, and 4 on double to dominate. These include 3 Konami Originals: Bag (only 65 BPM!), PARANOia Survivor and The legend of Max. Genom Screams is also a double 10-step song, which looks to be interesting. Naoki's diary for the week discusses the different ethnic songs he has created over the years. From the African sound of Afronova, to the Okinawan traditional folk song - Orion .78. He states Matsuri Japan is indeed a traditional folk song, and Tsugaru, his latest folk song, has a spiritual connotation with traditional Japanese music. |
